Bruno Cruz Oliveira

Interview with the artist I Bruno Cruz Oliveira —

1. Who are you and What do you do?
My name is Bruno da Cruz de Oliveira, I am Brazilian born on April 13, 1987, in Belo Horizonte in the state of Minas Gerais Brazil. I am a Pyrography artist and owner of Pirografia Fenix – the art that is reborn from the ashes, an artistic expression of fire paintings on wood through Pyrography techniques. They are ornamentation of artistic paintings, three-dimensional in low and high relief.

2. Why art?
From the age of six, I began to develop my first artistic manifestations through drawings. At 15 I took part in my first course as a draftsman. From 2007 onwards, I discovered the art of Pyrography through my master Mentor, the Plastic Artist Ant6nio Afonso. And I started to develop this technique more and more.

3. What is your first memory of wanting to be an artist?
0 interest in history books illustrated by paintings by great master artists. I got to know the world of art, in the Renaissance period, the Barraco, and contemporary and modern arts

4. What are your favorite subjects and media?
All artistic, cultural, and historical manifestations through Museums, galleries, shows, and art exhibitions. May they increasingly improve my knowledge as an artist. Through digital platforms, I began to develop a new means of communication and learning in the dissemination of my works. Getting closer and closer to my target audience and relating to them through social media. Participate in national and international artistic events.

5. How do you work and approach your subject?
Through research and studies, I can choose a specific theme to interpret through a work. That allows me to create a cultural manifestation through constructive criticism and communicating directly to this audience.

6. What are your favorite works of art, and artist(s)?
These are artistic wooden paintings painted using an electronic device called a pyrograph. Using a pen attached to it with a heated resistance, it makes it possible to create paintings and drawings by burning on its surface. The inspiration comes from great masters of Renaissance and Barraco paintings, among other great artists who inspire me through the world of art regardless of their period and artistic styles.

7. What is your best work?
0 expected return, express through art a vision that can
address content that appeals to the public. Get professional recognition
of artistic value through respect and admiration.

8. What do you like about your job?
Finding my artistic identity through the eyes of an audience that values and respects. And I can increasingly create my own works and express my artistic gifts.

9. What advice would you give to other artists?
Art is a long-term investment, and most importantly, investing in yourself in your work, creations, and study materials. Work on publicity, and participation in exhibitions, shows and artistic organizations that open up opportunities to present your work. So that you can reach an audience that values and respects your efforts and wants to have the opportunity to have and acquire your works of art.

10. Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Tend my own professional recognition of value
artistic and commercial. Thank God for having achieved my goals and the people who made it possible to get to where I am. After having increasingly improved my knowledge in the world of art, culture, and education, presenting my private collections and those of admirers throughout my journey. Repaying everything double by passing on my experiences to other artists and to those who are interested in the world of art as admirers who dream of achieving their life goals.
