Cynthia Loewen — ARTIST
The art of Cynthia Loewen —
Cynthia Loewen was born in Sag Harbor NY where she became interested in art through her mother. She was later influenced by Claude Monet, Johannes Vermeer, J.M.W. Turner, Mary Casatt, Vincent Van Gogh, and her environment. Especially the sea around her home.
She paints mostly in acrylic, but also uses water color, oil pastel, pen and ink, and charcoal. Her subject changes with her desire and vision. That might be land or sea scapes, portraits, nudes, florals, or what moves her at any time.
She has exhibited in New York, Ft. Lauderdale, Chicago, and Pennsylvania. Her work is in museums, galleries, and private and public collections in the US and Europe. She’s curated exhibits, managed galleries, and participated in numerous art shows and been honored with awards throughout her career.
She continues to paint because for her art is the expression of her love either for the individual or her surroundings.
“Art is love and love is art.”
