1. Who are you and what do you do?
Hakima Jnah is a Canadian and Moroccan artist painter, and
Graduate of the National Institute of Fine Arts, Morocco.

2. Why art?
I paint since my childhood, which has refined my talent for studying art, which is my field of expertise.

3. What is your earliest memory of wanting to be an artist?
At the age of ten, when I had begun to re -paint the paintings of senior artists, so I repainted the Mona Lisa with perfection. I liked that and liked the works of world class artists, and I read about their biography and accomplishments. So I decided to work to become a plastic artist.

4. What are your favorite subject(s) and media(s)?
I first started with figurative drawing. My subjects were derived from the daily life of people and landscapes  but later I entered the experience of abstract art, whose places and drawings were also derived from nature, and I work with different mediums and materials from oil and acrylic dye on canvas and so on.

5. How do you work and approach your subject?
I am inspired and fascinated by things that exist in nature or in the living environment from which the idea of analyzing and working above and elaborating it comes using the technical characteristics that have been previously studied.
‎تلهمني وتثير إنتباهي أشياء موجودة في الطبيعة أو في المحيط المعيشي من تم تأتي فكرة تحليلها والإشتغال عليا وبلورتها

6. What are your favorite art work(s), artist(s)?
My art paintings are expressive abstract paintings, but at the same time I come back
from time to time and paint personal paintings of landscapes or dead nature or people for my favorite artists – Leonard da Vinci, Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Jackson Pollock, Gerhard Richter, Anselm Kiefer.

7. What are the best responses you have had to your work?

8. What do you like about your work?
That I can express through the artwork my inner feelings and emotions, embody them and transfer them to the viewer who interacts with them in turn.

9. What advice would you give to other artists?
My advice for other artists is the continuous research that enables the artist to develop his experience. Be open to other cultures and carry a message of peace to all.

10. Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?
I hope that my artistic experience will be more mature, that I will be able to participate in international exhibitions and festivals and that galleries will open their doors for me, and that I will be able to complete my artistic studies at masters and doctorate level.
