Interview with artist Jeanne Chaves de Lima —

1. Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Jeanne Chaves de Lima, I was born in Brazil and I’ve been in Portugal for 9 years and I have Portuguese nationality. My passion for art dates back to childhood and has developed over time, enjoying creating works related to nature, God’s masterpiece that inspires many artists around the world. I have a course in the area of ​​education aimed at working with children, here in Portugal I have worked as a caregiver for many years and I am currently taking a computer course.

2. Why Art?
I chose art because it is a gift from God that comes from within and expresses a creation, an idea, a form that I developed with my own style and colors. I feel like I love painting and it gives me great pleasure to create.

3. What is your first memory of wanting to be an artist?
When I was 5 years old I remember that I took some cardboard and told my mother that I was going to make a painting for my grandmother.

 

 

4. What are your favorite subjects and “media”?
I like to see everything that can inspire me and bring me well-being, programs related to nature and news about events linked to art. I also watch a lot of videos with religious themes, I don’t feel like watching anything related to violence or wars.

 

 

5. How do you work and approach your subject?
Many of my works were created through photos or even videos or through conversations with someone who told me what they wanted. Creating is having an idea and seeing something related, everything appears suddenly.

6. What are your favorite works of art?
Most of my works of art are linked to nature, each with its own style.
To mention some that I really like, for example: Golden Garden, India, The Universe Spins, Butterflies in the Garden, You Love Me, among others.

 

 

 

7. What are the best reactions you’ve had to your work?
People who I had the pleasure of creating a work and expressed a lot of satisfaction, I also see people’s satisfaction through posts on social networks, for me an artist is very happy when his work pleases the public.

 

 

 

 

8. What do you like about your job?
I like to create works that touch the heart that please the public because I know they are seeing it favorably and so through messages expressing their taste, they appreciate my work, which gives me satisfaction.

 

 

 

 

9. What advice would you give to other artists? 
I would say to express your message in the best way possible and, because through art we show our feelings and love for nature, all of this will be seen and transmitted to the world.

 

 

 

 

10. How do you see the future in (5 to 10 years)?
I see that in the future technologies will advance more and more and the trend is a great development in the world,. However, I am very sad to see in the news that wars are not coming to an end and that It’s a big concern for the future. I hope there is peace. In the future I want to continue in 5 or 10 years creating works of art that express a caring feeling in people, transmitting peace, love and unity.
