Mihail Zablodskiy — ARTIST
Mihail Zablodskiy in his own words —
I graduated Polygraph Institute (Faculty of Graphics), and participated in numerous Ukrainian and international exhibitions. My works are in private collections in Ukraine, Russia, England, Canada, USA, Germany, Poland, India. I live and work in Kyiv.
I love when in the works are secret, mystery, intrigue. Art should not be a blind imitation of nature, it can’t be compared with nature and photographs. So I love painting, which expands our perception of reality, exacerbates it. I like expressionism and surrealism.
I have always loved art since I was a child. From the very early childhood, I was interested in all its manifestations – painting, illustrations, architecture, animation. And it is quite logical, that I wanted to try myself in everything.
Not so long ago I released a couple of comic books for American publishers, one film and now I’m even finishing my own animation.
But besides that, I was always interested in exact sciences – astronomy, physics, history. Many of my works (especially in the style of surrealism) are related to quantum physics.
Here are the examples of drawings and their concepts:
Fallen Angel
etching
In the work, I was impressed with the story by Gabriel Garcia Marquez – “A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings.”
The protagonist is not an ordinary angel. Instead, despite its unusual appearance, he is more human than angel. Since it is not consistent with the concept of angels, people can not understand him.
INSIDE
gel pen, markers, pencils
What if the world we see is just an illusion? What if there is no smell or taste in the real world? What if there are no colors in the real world? If you will perceive reality as it really is, you would not have recognized it at all.
It seems to us that our world is full of sounds, smells, colors, it seems obvious that reality is right here. But not everything is not so simple. In fact, from the physical point of view, there is no color, there are wavelengths. Sounds are just fluctuations … do we know anything about our reality. What doubts can there be – eyes, arms, legs … here I am. But the perception of reality is filtered by our senses. We interact with the world of physical objects, but in fact, these are just electrical signals that our brain interprets. At one time, Niels Bohr said that “Everything we call real is made of things that cannot be regarded as real.” The world that we see exists only in our imagination. We all have an internally created reality. The world lives inside our brain. He constantly updates information from our senses. But sometimes it does not correspond to reality. This is a beautifully derived simulator.
Entrance to the world of the subconscious
pencils
1 – Stranger-man himself, his self-awareness .
2 – Maze repeats brain shape and symbolizes the subconscious .
3 – Tower domes – cerebellum, hypothalamus (from Greek “room, chamber”).
4 – The human brain is still badly explored; all-seeing eye- Masonic symbol – means enigma, a secret, something unknown .
5 – In the Masonic symbol question mark —
• Shows that the eye is not only connected with the Masons.
• As it is in the centre of the labyrinth, it means that we can’t solve all the riddles of our mind, i.e. until they are under question .
6 – Lianas smoothly flow into the hair in the form of a torch —
• Torch – destruction, passion .
• Lianas – confusion, social networks 7 lions at the entrance to the labyrinth – the image of guards, restrictions on the approaches to the world of the subconscious.
Multiverse
Since ancient times, scientists and philosophers have been questioning about existence; ‘is our world one, unique, one way or is there other possibilities?’ Scientists/physicists who are engaged in quantum mechanics offered their own version of the multiplicity of universes. Experiments led them to the idea that our world is variable and multidimensional. This theory says that where there is a choice – universes bifurcate. If this assumption is true, then the Universes are really a great multitude, they are aborning every moment. Our world is three-dimensional, but there are a lot of such worlds. Each point of our space is a complex multilevel universe with its own laws and peculiarities.
The topic of quantum mechanics and multidimensionality (parallel worlds) has interested me for a very long time. Physicists are well aware of the concept of “corpuscular-wave dualism” – the notion of the two-unity of the material world, in which all objects possess both wave and corpuscular properties. In my work, dualism is also represented. I wanted to show the manifestation of two realities. One of them is colorful, pastel and there are holes into the another black and white graphic reality. through brightness and color manifest black and white reality.
We peer into space, and the cosmos looks at us. The eyes in the starry sky are symbols of those who’re watching us …
